The Black Market, RA's latest project... Am I the only one who thinks this is RA's best album since Sufferer? While I'm as unsure of which direction RA's music is going as you are, I really enjoy this project.
The Great Die-Off: What a way to kick off the record! This track is awesome. I love the lyrics, the awesome moment where Tim drops the mfer, and an amazing outro stick out in this one the most. 10/10
I Don't Wanna Be Here Anymore: This song is really cool. I enjoy Brandon's drumming in this one al lot, he changes it up more than usual (something that can be said through out this whole record). This one sticks out with a very catchy, power chorus. 9.25/10
Tragedy + Time: This one is kind of like The Dirt Whispered in the sense it's very poppy, and sugar-coated compared to most RA songs. I absolutely love the meaning of the lyrics to this one and I can connect to them a lot. 8.75/10
The Black Market: AH! This chorus! Simply awesome. Oh yeah, the rest of the song is awesome, but that chorus man, it steals the show. The guitar riffs on this one are really damn good, and the lyrics have a very pleasant flow. The only gripe I have is the opening, it doesn't really fit. 9.9/10
The Eco-Terrorist In Me: Do you miss the RPM days where RA would sing very angry, energetic, quick songs with some screaming from Tim? Well this is the song for you my friend! The pure energy and anger that oozes from this song is awesome. A very cool breakdown and an overall kickass song. Potentially the bet on the record. 10/10
Sudden Life: What? You expect me to hate this one because it "lacks energy" like I accused other songs of... Well... I actually enjoy this one more than most. I love Brandon's drumming on this song, I dig the dream-like feel it gives to break up the pace, and I enjoy the chorus a lot. However it's far from an amazing song. 8.61/10 (very specific rating, I know. Haha)
A Beautiful Indifference: I love the many tempo changes this song has. Just an overall cool song. 9/10
Methadone: Huh. Well. This one has a different, love song esque, vibe to it... But it's kinda average in my eyes. I enjoy the chorus and the drum opening a lot though. 8.5/10
Zero Visibility: I love this song. It's different in all the right ways. I love the riff in the opening, the interesting effects on the lyrics, the instrumental break is awesome, and the chorus is awesome as well. This is just a fun song to listen to. I can't really think of a way to make this song any cooler so I think It deserves this rating. 10/10
Awake Too Long: Do you want Eco-Terrorist without any screaming? Here you go. I enjoy the chorus (especially the powerful final one), the great opening riff, and I really enjoy the energy. 9.25/10
People Live Here: It's an RA acoustic song, need I say more? Ok well I really enjoy the lyric's meaning, and the line "to the coffins full of kindergarteners, is this what you call free," sends chills down my spine everytime. Pretty sure that's the best use of the word kindergarteners in the history of music, ha. 9.5/10
Bridges: Very cool song, however I believe People Live Here should have been the closer. A lot of people glance over this one, but I very throughly enjoy this bridge and the chorus. Damn... I enjoy a lot of chorus on this album. 9/10
What are your favorites? If you had to play one of these songs for a talent show which would you choose (weird question I know)? Feel free to leave your opinions my friends.
((Does the poll work? I seem to be the first to make one. ))
