RA was a point in their career, seemingly at least, where they knew they had potential. However, for any punk band leaving the underground is a scary thought. Siren Song, in my opinion, gives the casual listener and the hardcore listener songs for both to enjoy.
State of the Union: The opening is absolutely amazing. This one of the only RA songs that Tim does absolutely no clean singing. I see how this song could alienate lovers of AtR or Endgame on a first listen, but damn, this is a great opener. The anger, the energy, the lyrics, they're all awesome! 9.5/10
The First Drop: A decent amount of people call this an underrated gem, however I personally don't. The chorus just puts me off for some reason. Awesome bridge though. 8/10
Life Less Frightening: A great overall song, with a very catchy chorus. 9.25/10
Paper Wings: A true highlight of the album. One of RA's greatest choruses ever, the awesome lyrics, the awesome guitar solo, the cool little acoustic bridge, the guitar riff in the chorus, did I mention the chorus? One of the first songs I recommend to a person getting into RA. 10/10
Blood To Bleed: A slower paced song that's different in pretty much all the right ways. A great bass riff, and a very good chorus are the things that stand out the most in this one. 8.5/10
To Them These Streets Belong: The one doesn't stick out in my head. It's good RA, but nothing super special, other than the admittedly very catchy opening/bridge. 7.75/10
Tip the Scales: That opening riff <3! It's got awesome lyrics, And it's just overall a kickass song. 10/10
Anywhere But Here: This is my personal pick for underrated song of the record. The drumming in the verses is insane! Like how the hell does Brandon play the double kick that fast with one foot? Tim's voice really shines on this one and the vocals have a very nice flow to them. my only complaint is the kinda weak bridge. 9.75/10
Give It All: I don't know what to say about this one, I love it so much. I legitimately listen to this song everyday after my last class of the day. 10/10
Dancing for Rain: Really cool song. It's got a different vibe, but it's really fun to listen to. 8.5/10
Swing Life Away: Well. It's an acoustic RA song. I could just stop right there, but I think I'll add a little more. This song is so much fun to sing along to! It's also great live! 10/10
Rumors...: What an awesome closer! The lyrics are really, really awesome on this one and it's just an overall great song. 9.75/10
