Hi everyone, since their first live concert in 2014 i'm thinking about tim's voice a lot. His voice is getting difference every year and it seems like it keeps getting weaker and his screams are helped by an eco during live performance almost as he can't do it without it. I've seen them live and I love their performance but I am worry anyway. what are your thoughts about it?

That kind of singing isn't sustainable - especially not on tour. He still lets one rip during Help Is On The Way, sometimes a truly impressive one (I've heard him go 10 seconds at least) but no - he's not going to scream an entire song like that. Same thing in a few other songs which were scream-heavy on the album. Remember - if he screws up his voice one night, he's not gonna be able to sing the next night. And if he can't sing the next night, they can't even play. So he's really got to be careful.
What I've heard when I see them live is someone who's being more careful. Working with his voice, figuring out what he can do to keep going as long as possible. It's actually reassuring - if he was still being as reckless as he used to be, I'd be worried. But he's looking after himself, and that's a really good thing.

Yes, that's true but I can't understand these echos during his screams, he can scream even without them. I've seen a video of "alive and well" live in 2014 and I'm pretty sure that the last heavy scream wasn't even sang by him, it was just playback. And in "ready to fall" it seems like he struggle to sing even verses, like he's breathless. I remember when I saw them live, in "re-education" I couldn't even hear him, he's voice seems to be weaker every year but in comparison to 2013 he has improved a lot though. I love Tim's voice that's why I'm so upset.

Professional singers know how to sing and scream, but yeah his voice getting weaker since 2008. Anyway he's still rocking his heart out during every show.

I think this also depends on how many concerts they were before and which songs he sang there. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NEInNcRQ9wIn this video his voice is fucked up a bit, but his voice recovered. I heard that it also depends on how you scream. When you scream (right) you usually don't use your vocal cords, so when you scream, it shouldn't damage your "normal" voice, you know? And also screaming mustn't hurt you, if so you're doing something wrong I heard. Maybe you know Oliver Sykes the singer from Bring Me The Horizon? I heard that he taught himself how to scream and he did it in his own way, and I think it was a wrong way unfortunately. If you're looking for a concert from BMTH from like around 2013 (like this one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCnmaunwOXc )you see that screaming is hurting Oli there (which also hurts me a lot, if he is almost dying on stage) I think Tim's voice now has really big differences from his voce earlier. But I like his voice on every record so far. He once had this "clean" voice, but I like the "raspy" one more, I think that gives it a bit more power. On the concert on which I went to in October 2015, I didn't really heard that his voice was "weak", but it was my first concert I can't compare it to another one. And I actually didn't expected such amazing screams from Tim. I listened to some concerts on Youtube and there you can't really hear the screams. I read that Rise doesn't use any tuning/ playback methods on stage, just this echo effect for his voice, and that's also a reason why I like them so much, that they want to be original on stage. Sry fot this long answer!

m.youtube.com/watch?v=rGQJ55gPE-MHere is the "alive and well" performance which I was talking about. I really think that the last part of the last heavy scream is in lip sync and is not Tim doing it, I watched a video from 2011 and Tim struggled scream it and in 2014 he did it perfectly, I have doubts about it. And I can understand the fact that screaming after 15 years of shows can be difficult, I am more concerned about the singing part and the strength in his voice, like I said just watch the verses from ready to fall live in 2014-2015 it seems like he's really struggling breathing

yeah this scream sonds more powerful than the others he did in this video. It's possible he really "saved" his power for this scream, maybe he didn't screamed the others liket his, because it would be hurtful, but he wanted to scream this one right? Or they really used a playback scream, although they said they would never do this.

I saw them play Alive And Well 11 days after that performance, OJ, and I definitely don't think that was playback. If you listen, I don't think there's as much distortion as in normal screams - it's sort of this in-between thing he does sometimes Definitely his real voice. I saw him do this a couple of times, both in person and via streams - sometimes he'd go a good 8-10 seconds, or something truly incredible like that, and sometimes he'd keep it to more like 4. And it was definitely real. I don't think they're using playback at all, tbh. If they were, they'd record some good screams ahead of time, the sort he can do in TBM and such when he's not doing 90 minutes a night for weeks. Instead, he keeps it real, and does it less.

Really they said that they don't do playback? on help is on the way it is his voice for sure and that part is awesome!! Anyway about alive and well I understand your point but I was saying that if in 2011, when his screams was better, he had difficulties screaming that part how can it be that in 2014 he did that part perfectly just like the original song? Considering the fact that he have to switch to normal voice suddenly and you don't notice anything! Like a breathless part in between or maybe just something different in his voice that would be normal and you notice that in Tim 's voice pretty often in his live performances
